Jane’s Walk MKE
Description
Jane's Walk MKE is completely volunteer led effort to coordinate free, resident-led neighborhood walking, biking, paddling, and transit tours throughout May each year. This is a program of Milwaukee Turners.
MISSION
To host free, citizen-led neighborhood explorations and community-building events that embody urban activist Jane Jacob’s legacy through observing, reflecting, questioning, and collectively reimagining the places in which Milwaukeeans live, work and play. We believe in building a “walkable and talkable” city, planned for and by citizens. To borrow from Jane Jacob’s The Death and Life of Great American Cities, we envision a Milwaukee that has “the capability of providing something for everybody, only because, and only when, [it is] created by everybody.
