Safe Zone Initiative

The objective of Safe Zone Initiative is to implement place based community revitalization and unification strategies that eradicate high activity in violence, blight, and incarceration, which leads to becoming a prosperous and safe neighborhood. Our mission is to connect our community to resources and opportunities, the land, and each other. We act as, and we encourage others to become, engaged stewards of the neighborhood – our belief is that “when people know better, they can do better.”

NeighborHOOD (Helping Others Obtain Direction) Ambassadors will seek solutions inside and outside of the neighborhood to bring back to the community as a whole. In collaboration with the City of Milwaukee Promise Zones, Safe Zone Initiative will function as a public safety communal structured operation. Established Safe Houses and Resource Houses will assist in building and maintaining the infrastructure of Milwaukee’s Strong Neighborhoods Plan, and develop self –sustaining evident based outcomes within each designated Safe Zone. Safe Zones will also work as a functioning liaison with Compete Milwaukee for acquisition of areas for renewal and community facilitators.
