SDC empowers Milwaukee County residents with the resources to move beyond poverty. They are the planner, coordinator, and provider of human service programs for low-income individuals and families in Milwaukee County.

In 1964, the SDC became the only Community Action Agency for Milwaukee County. The SDC operates more than 20 programs designed to improve the overall quality of life for low-income residents. Through the five core service areas of asset development, family strengthening, employment, education and training and support services, the SDC provides services to tens of thousands of people each year.
