Description
The Milwaukee Consortium for Hmong Health was created in 2008 to address health disparities in cancer with Hmong in Milwaukee. The Consortium is formerly known as the Southeast Education Development and specializes in building health awareness with Hmong, Burmese, Karen, Karenni and other immigrant/refugees in Milwaukee.
Mission: To engage the Asian American community for positive change regarding chronic diseases and cancer health and wellness.
Vision: To advance strategies for reducing the burden of chronic diseases and cancer in the Asian American community.
Goals: We hope to provide communication, education, and outreach on chronic disease and cancer issues and address barriers to and encourage screening and follow-up with women and physicians.
