Milwaukee Art Museum African American Art Alliance

• To increase interest and participation in the Museum
• To engage the community in Museum events that feature African American art and artists
• To provide a forum for education, discussion, and enjoyment of African American art
• To support the acquisition of African American art for the Museum’s Collection
• To promote an increased involvement of volunteers in the Museum

AAAA continues to fund the acquisition of an admirable collection of African American art, regularly host informal dinners/lectures, and sponsor events featuring notable African American artists such as Gordon Parks, Faith Ringgold, Lois Mailou Jones, Glenn Ligon, and Kehinde Wiley. It is the intention of the organization to continue to offer a forum for those interested in African American art.
