Coalition for Justice
Description
In the wake of the unjust murders of Dontre Hamilton, Corey Stingley, Derek Williams, Brandon Johnson, Larry Jenkins, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and so many more at the hands of police officers and racist vigilantes, people in cities across the nation have risen up to demand Justice in their communities. For every individual killed, there is a mother who has suffered a loss greater than any one person should have to bear. We, the mothers of this movement, are calling on all concerned community members to join us in our fight. Together we unite to stand against police brutality and racial injustice and to demonstrate our love and determination to protect our children and our country.
Demands for Dontre Hamilton Case:
1. A public retraction of the felonious statements made about Dontre Hamilton by Police Chief Edward Flynn
2. The public release of the name of the officer who shot and killed Dontre Hamilton at Red Arrow Park
3. The public release of the incident report for the officer involved in the shooting
Demands for Change to Police Policy and Procedure:
1. Any officer involved in any criminal investigation, be immediately suspended without pay until the investigation is concluded
2. All information regarding any officer involved in a criminal investigation be publicly released at the time of the incident, including (but not limited to) the name of the officer and a copy the incident report filed
3. The Milwaukee Police Department implement a Principal & Accessory policy for officers who witness criminal or excessive acts by fellow officers but do nothing to restrain or subdue them; formally dismantling the “Blue Code of Silence.”
