City Year Milwaukee

Description

We are City Year. We are challenging the educational status quo with tenacity, passion and empathy. We create environments where young people feel like they belong, so they can fulfill their potential.

We believe that all students can succeed and that developing the skills and mindsets of children and young adults contributes to strong, vibrant communities—outcomes that benefit all of us.

We partner with educators while supporting, mentoring and lifting up our students so that they are able to fully take advantage of their drive and skillsets.

The challenge

Many students lack access to learning environments and resources they need to thrive in school and in life, due to systemic inequities that disproportionately affect students of color and students growing up in low-income households.

What we do

  • Support  students and schools
  • Develop civic leaders
  • Share promising practices

Become Involved
