City on a Hill – Milwaukee
Description
City on a Hill's mission is to transform the lives of children and youth living in poverty in Milwaukee's central city, and to improve the quality of life of adults and families in our neighborhood.
Our mission includes:
- expanding access to health and wellness services for the uninsured through our Free Health Clinic
- alleviating hunger and other problems among poor families and homeless adults through our food pantry and resource center
- providing educational and recreational programs for poor children, and a safe, positive place for at-risk youth in the critical afterschool hours
Located in the heart of Milwaukee - America's 4th poorest city, where over 62,000 children are living in poverty - City on a Hill is working to bring transformation to central city neighborhoods. Through a collaborative and Christ-centered model of service, we are working to restore hope, reduce poverty, strengthen families, and foster racial reconciliation.
Our priorities include: educating youth, empowering parents, equipping leaders for urban ministry, and engaging churches in social justice.
