Amani United
Description
We are Amani United. A diverse group of residents determined to move forward toward a healthy and sustainable community.
Amani United is a resident led community group that formed as a result of the Building Neighborhood Capacity Program (BNCP).
In February of 2017 the Amani Neighborhood celebrated the completion of the Amani Revitalization plan.
From this plan three priority areas have been identified:
Priority One: Neighborhood Safety
- Foster Positive Communication and Relationships Between Neighbors
- Provide Resident and Partner Leadership Development and Training Opportunities
- Encourage Youth Participation
- Foster Civic Engagement in Amani
- Work with Residents and Partners to Address Public Safety Concerns
Priority Two: Housing and Economic Development
- Improve Neighborhood Conditions Related to Housing and Blight
- Enhance Workforce Development and Job Placement Opportunities
- Support Neighborhood Entrepreneurship and Community-Owned BusinessesPriority Three: Education and Family Well-Being
