Wisconsin Hispanic Latino Tobacco Prevention Network
Description
The WHLTPN is comprised of FACT teen members who work with the community to promote healthier environments by providing education to state legislators, community leaders, parents, and other teens on the harmful effects of tobacco. The UMOS FACT teens also work in collaboration with other teen serving agencies to promote healthier lifestyles throughout the community.
The education programming also includes advocacy and promotion of tobacco related policies or legislation that would bring about positive changes in the community.
UMOS targets low socio-economic, urban and Hispanic/Latino adult and teen populations. We provide free tobacco educational sessions to groups already in place, such as Parent Teacher Organizations in the schools and the Boys and Girls Club.
